Badawang

   Badawang or memeniran is a traditional art of sundanese people from west java, this art rather like the art of Jakarta that is Ondel Ondel because they made a giant sclupture that has a head and a face like a human and people can go inside the giant's body to control it. This tradition already has a long history, imitation of living things as part of a mystical tradition totemistik derived from the belief system native to Indonesia.

In sunda encyclopedia, badawang means people who has a big body created from bamboos and given clothes and can controlled by people inside it follow the sound of music instrument, badawang usually displayed in a convoy to enliven public's party, and traditional party such as family weddings or circumcisions.Musical accompaniment for badawang, just as the musical accompaniment of martial arts, only occasionally plus dog-dog and drum. Similarly, the songs (Golempang, Padungdung). Just today, the songs kawih also used, such as song-rayak rayak, flower Beureum, including dangdutan songs being popular. 

Some of the meaning contained in the performing arts of badawang, have meaning:

1). Mystical meaning, which is a picture of a society totemistik religious traditions native to Indonesia, although there have been changes to the shape of the forms that funny and cute, including figures Panakawan and others. 

2). Teatrical meaning, the present of some memeniran and another badawang  are very teatrical because it forms that caricatural and so big in the forms that created more prominent than ordinary human form,
